10 Reasons Tim Burton's Batman Movies Are Still The Best

9. The Batmobile

In the original Batman there€™s a scene where Kim Basinger stops and gasps when she sees the Batmobile. This is likely because she was literally overpowered by the waves of awesome coming off it. Her reaction mirrors the audience; simply put, it€™s the coolest car in the history of cool cars. A sleek, beautifully designed creature, it€™s capable of impressively high speeds and is equipped with twin machines guns, grappling hooks, voice activation, bomb dispensers and is completely bullet proof. And in an emergency it can turn into a Batmissile, where the non-essential parts are shed so it can squeeze through narrow gaps. It also appears to have lots of headroom and good petrol mileage, which is, you know, good. Batman has had a lot of different Batmobile designs throughout the years, but this version has never really been bettered. The Tumbler in the Nolan films was neat, but it was too blocky and fugly in comparison. And, even now, you can find men with a touch of arrested development buying replica versions of the car for high prices. Presumably without the weapons attached. People are free to debate every other item on this list, apart from this one. It€™s just scientific fact.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
