10 Reasons Why Marvel Will Never Make A Solo Black Widow Film
4. Family Life
Joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a huge commitment, particularly if you play one of the company's iconic heroes. The most popular actors sign up for a minimum of three movies, while some like Robert Downey, Jr. commit to six or more. In some ways, this makes perfect sense. These performers become inextricably tied to the characters they play and all of the fame and money that is packaged in the deal must be nice too. Acting isn't a particularly secure profession, so guaranteed work is a godsend, but when you're established like Johansson, money is no longer an issue. In 2014, Johansson had her first child and it's likely that her priorities have now changed. While she is almost certainly going to continue acting for the foreseeable future, she may now be more reluctant to make the intense commitment that a Black Widow movie would require, especially not alongside her other scheduled appearances and films outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This alone is obviously not a deciding factor in the development of a Black Widow movie, but in conjunction with other reasons on this list, it may not be too surprising if Johansson leans towards supporting roles better suited to her new circumstances outside of acting.
