10 Recent Box Office Duds Destined To Become Cult Classics
5. Logan Lucky
Steven Soderbergh's 'retirement' from directing feature films may have only turned out to be a four-year hiatus, but Logan Lucky showed that the multi-hyphenate filmmaker hadn't lost a step, with the ensemble heist comedy arguably his best movie in well over a decade.
The complete antithesis to the glitz and glamor of Soderbergh's Ocean's Trilogy despite sharing several narrative similarities, Logan Lucky is much more of a screwball-inspired comedy, powered by hapless heroes somehow bumbling their way through an increasingly-convoluted robbery.
It may have been an inspired return to form for Soderbergh, but his independently-financed comeback wasn't exactly a smash hit, and made less than $50m at the global box office. However, there's little chance that a movie as energetic, entertaining and re-watchable as Logan Lucky doesn't continue to attract new fans from the comfort of their own homes.
