10 Recent Horror Movie Endings Nobody Can Agree On

The recent adaptation of Rachel Yoder's novel Nightbitch largely toned down the more magically surreal aspects of the source material, and this is especially true in its ending, as naturally left many fans of the book frustrated.

Though the novel ends with the mother (Amy Adams) staging a bizarre and ultimately gruesome performance art piece while transformed into her dog form, the film offers up a tamer art exhibit without a transformation, before the mother reunites with her husband (Scoot McNairy) and they go on to have a second child.

The ending did evidently worked for some, who connected with its proud statement that modern women can indeed "have it all" - parenthood, a healthy marriage, and a fulfilling professional and creative life.

But even beyond the book crowd, there were those who found the abruptly upbeat ending a touch too "Hallmark" for their liking, and that a film as provocatively premised as this needed a tad more bite at the finish line.
