10 Recent Horror Movies That Were WAY Better Than Expected
8. Stream
You couldn't be blamed for taking one look at the poster for Stream and just saying to yourself, "Nah." It made the film look like low-effort junk, and the fairly uninspired trailer further suggested it was a thrown-together mess made with a meager budget.
But you know what? Stream actually isn't half bad at all.
Granted, much of the fun here lies in merely witnessing the cast, consisting primarily of horror legends such as Jeffrey Combs, Dee Wallace, David Howard Thornton, Felissa Rose, Danielle Harris, Tony Todd, and even the great Tim Curry in a brief cameo.
The premise - of a family facing off against a quartet of serial killers competing for the most creative kills - is a doozy, and Stream largely delivers the gleefully gooey death scenes you'd expect.
Sure, it's definitely too long at 123 minutes, but Stream is a mostly fun time regardless. More to the point, did anyone peg this thing getting 95% on Rotten Tomatoes?
