5. The Endless

The Endless
Well Go USA Entertainment

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead follow-up their incredible 2014 horror-romance Spring with this riveting sci-fi horror about two brothers (played by Benson and Moorhead themselves) who re-visit a cult they previously escaped from after receiving an ominous videotape.

While the slow-burn approach might be too deliberate and ambiguous for some, The Endless is a smart, character-driven effort that gradually builds and builds to a more explosive finale.

Favouring consistent unease over more conventional thrills, this is a film that lingers with you far longer than more outwardly scary movies tend to, and is yet further proof of how intensely unsettling cosmic horror can truly be.
