6. Ricky - The Monkey
Oz Perkins' The Monkey features a number of unhinged death scenes we didn't see coming, but the most insane of the lot? Ricky's (Rohan Campbell) death-by-hornets in the third act.
After Bill (Theo James) makes his nephew Petey (Colin O'Brien) turn the cursed monkey's key, a swarm of hornets suddenly emerge from a large nest and fly towards Ricky, who is in the back seat of Hal's (also Theo James) car.
Because Ricky accidentally shot a hole through the car's windshield moments earlier, the swarm is able to enter the car, thousands of them flying directly into Ricky's mouth while he and Hal are helpless to do anything.
Ricky naturally doesn't last long before perishing, but it gets even worse - once the job is done, the hornets start making their exit from Ricky's mouth, poking holes in his face, the force eventually causing his lower jaw to fall apart. Gross.
Because hornets apparently aren't terrifying enough in real life, Perkins just had to make them even worse.
