10 Recent Movie Deaths NOBODY Saw Coming

Considering that James Gunn's Superman is an incredibly wholesome superhero movie, few probably expected it to feature an edgy kill the sort of which would feel more at home in a Zack Snyder Superman film.

Near the end of the movie, the thoroughly detestable Boravian president Vasil Ghurkos (Zlatko Burić) is attacked by Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), who grabs him and flies out of a nearby window, dragging a terrified Ghurkos into the sky.

However, Ghurkos soon enough berates Hawkgirl, saying that she won't kill him because she's "too delicate and weak, like Superman." 

This prompts an annoyed Hawkgirl to tell him, "I'm not like Superman," before she drops him out of the sky, leaving him to fall helplessly to his horrific demise.

While we obviously don't see the grisly results, this being a PG-13 movie and all, Gunn cuts to a fizzy tablet being dropped into someone's drink, hilariously painting a picture of what became of Ghurkos.

But having a superhero kill the President of a country without much hesitation - even accepting that they're a horrific despotic warmonger - is pretty damn wild in 2025.
