5. Sean Townsend - Another Simple Favor
The first character death in Another Simple Favor is a surprising one alright - Emily Nelson's (Blake Lively) ex-husband Sean Townsend (Henry Golding).
Sean, who had a major role in the first movie, is brutally dispatched in the first act, when a mysterious figure injects him in the finger with an unknown substance while he showers, causing him to haemorrhage from his nose, eyes, mouth, and ears before falling through the shower's glass window.
This should've been a significant turning point in the movie, and yet, it feels like Sean was ultimately written out without much thought at all, especially considering how quickly the film moves on from him.
Hell, even his own son Nicky (Ian Ho) seems barely bothered by his death and far more interested in playing with his toy drone, which says it all really.
But given that Sean was a prominent and relatively likeable character in the first movie, it was hugely disappointing to see him killed off in such flippant fashion here.
