10 Recent Movie Deaths That Pissed Everyone Off

Now of course, if you'd read Robert Littell's novel on which The Amateur is based, or even seen the previous 1981 film, you probably wouldn't be expecting to see much of Rachel Brosnahan in this new adaptation.

But for the great many entirely new to the story, it seemed like an odd choice to cast such a talented and well-known actress in the rather disposable role of a Murdered Wife, who exists solely to motivate protagonist Charlie Heller's (Rami Malek) revenge plot.

In fact, the entire setup - including the off-screen death of Brosnahan's Sarah Heller - is fishy enough that, the moment the movie's trailer dropped, many suspected the film's big twist would be that she was actually still alive, for whatever reason.

The logic was certainly sound, because why hire a genuinely great actress for such a throwaway part otherwise? 

And yet, the film plays out with Sarah's early death indeed being totally legit, ensuring Brosnahan is just another of the many actors in the movie whose talents are totally wasted.
