10 Recent Movie Post-Credit Scenes Worth Sticking Around For

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was met largely with groans at the release of the initial trailer, but $1.3 billion and a spot as one of the top 20 highest-grossing movies of all time later, it's fair to say that it was a success.

The animation was beautiful, and though the story was relatively straightforward, it didn't need to be anything else. The movie delivered exactly what it promised, and off the back of it, audiences were immediately excited at the prospect of a sequel.

A lot of post-credit scenes, far too many really, tease the future of the franchise in such a way that nothing ever really comes of it. The Super Mario Bros. Movie only showed a little teaser, with Yoshi hatching out of his classic green-spotted egg, but it will have a huge impact on the very next chapter in the series.

Often, the tease of a new character can underwhelm slightly. However, the film did such a strong job with how it portrayed the likes of Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser (Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Jack Black), that it feels safe to get excited for Yoshi to join the fray. The green dinosaur is an incredibly popular character from the games, with multiple titles of his own, and will seemingly be in safe hands when the sequel drops next year.
