2. A Connection To Prey - Predator: Killer Of Killers
Is there a film series that has seen as much of a resurgence over the past couple of years as Predator? The franchise was tired and limping to the finish line after 2018's The Predator, but 2022's Prey and the recently released Predator: Killer of Killers have reinvigorated it and then some.
Prey saw the story go back to its roots, as both the Predator and Naru (Amber Midthunder) hunted each other among the woods and trees, while Killer of Killers told three separate stories before bringing them all together for a big finish.
Essentially, Ursa, Kenji, and Torres all killed one of the Yautja, and their reward was to be captured by the aliens and made to fight each other, with the winner facing the Grendel King. The animated feature was outstanding, and even included an unexpected link to Prey.
The post-credit scene showed where these Predator killers were being stored, and out of nowhere, audiences saw Naru. This was a jaw-dropper. She killed the Predator that hunted her back in 1719, and was now taken by the aliens in what is an outstanding tease for what's to come in Prey 2. It also raises the question of if the original film's Dutch could be in there somewhere, too. What a prospect bringing an animated Arnie back would be!
