10 Recent Movie Post-Credit Scenes Worth Sticking Around For
1. Marvel's First Family - Thunderbolts*
It was the MCU that kick-started the post-credit scene craze back with Nick Fury and Tony Stark (Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr.) back in 2008, and similarly, the wider franchise is also largely responsible for making such scenes feel less and less special as the years have gone on.
Too many post-credit scenes from Marvel Studios have either not been worth sticking around for or have teased things that it seems more than likely won't be addressed again for years, if at all. What happened to the Eternals? Will either Clea (Charlize Theron) or Hercules (Brett Goldstein) ever be seen on MCU screens again? Does anyone even care anymore?
Thunderbolts* was the first MCU flick in a long time to actually tease the very next instalment in the franchise, just like the days of Phase One, and in doing so, upped the excitement for Avengers: Doomsday more than anything else has since the movie was announced.
The titular team, now operating as the New Avengers, saw an unidentified ship flying through space that appeared to be from a different reality. Cue the picture of the ship with a massive blue '4' on the side, and the Fantastic Four: The First Steps theme music. This scene was reportedly directed and shot by the Russo brothers, and will almost certainly feature in the next Avengers film, possibly even First Steps itself.
