10 Recent Movies Guaranteed To Age Terribly

6. Project X

Films about young people who like to party are a product of their times - just as the "jocks and nerds" high school comedies of the 1980s really show their age when you watch them today, so too more recent films which tackle similar themes will look very much of their time when viewed over the years to come. Project X increases its chances of dating very quickly by opting for the found footage approach to its cautionary tale of a house party gone horribly wrong. This shooting style alone is inevitably going to suffer by comparisons to improvements in the kinds of cameras people will use in their everyday lives (while the popularity of the found footage genre itself will perhaps inevitably wane as time goes by). Beyond this, the fashion and music - not to mention the references to Craigslist - will make Project X stand out as very much a product of the early 2010s. It may stand as the "gnarliest high school party of all time" (in the words of the writer) today, but time probably won't be so kind to this assessment.
