10 Recent Movies Guaranteed To Age Terribly

7. Disconnect

Ever since the rise of the internet a number of movies have been produced which seek to tackle the way in which life in a digital age has led to a lack of connection between people, caught up in their gadgets and electronic devices when they could be talking to one another. The Japanese horror film Pulse (also known as Kairo) is still one of the most effective films yet to have explored this topic. This feeling of isolation and alienation thanks to technology and the growth of social media is the subject of Disconnect, which attempts to tackle the issue in a broad brush stroke, much the same way as Crash used mutliple characters with overlapping storylines to explore the dynamics at the heart of racism in modern America. Disconnect does a pretty good job of covering all the bases with its three interconnecting storylines but will inevitably come to be seen as rather dated in a few years time - for one thing, the nature of social media is always changing along with the role it plays in our lives.
