10 Recent Movies So Good You Overlook Huge Flaws

1. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse - It's Only Half The Story

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a masterpiece, triumphing as one of the best animated films of all time and one of the best superhero movies of all time. By merging some of the most exquisite animation in the history of the medium with a captivating, detailed story, this movie succeeds on virtually every conceivable level.

And yet, there is still one thing that holds it back from being a full 10/10: it's only half a story. Everything that we do actually get to see is incredible, but then it ends with a "To Be Continued," and in all honesty, it doesn't necessarily feel like this movie has a real climax.

In contrast to the recent Wicked movie, which was only half the story but still very much felt like a complete movie with a satisfying finale, Across the Spider-Verse's ending feels more like a cliffhanger than anything else, and it does feel a bit incomplete as a result. Furthermore, the third film has been heavily delayed and it's not coming until 2027 now, so we're going to have to wait a long time to see this cliffhanger resolved.

Still a great movie though.
