10 Recent Movies That Reignited A Dying Franchise

6. Final Destination: Bloodlines

Like some of even the very best horror movie series, Final Destination found itself waning after the release of too many sequels. The initial chapter of the story from 2000 was tense, unique, and fun in a weird kind of way, but the decline kicked in quickly.

11 years later came the fourth sequel, and seemingly the end of the line. This was the accepted school of thought for over a decade, until Final Destination: Bloodlines was released in 2025 and smashed every other entry in the series out of the water.

In terms of critical response, Bloodlines has easily been the most well-received, even more so than the original, which is not something many franchises' sixth film can boast. In terms of box office gross, it has shot right to the top of the list, taking in $259 million, which is over $70 million more than the previous franchise-high, The Final Destination.

At any time over the last decade and a half, there wouldn't have been many who gave a Final Destination rebirth a chance, but now it seems impossible to think that there won't be more entries on the way.
