And yet, in perhaps the year's most obvious cinematic payday for all involved - in the live-action stakes, at least - Lift is an airless Ocean's Eleven knock-off that fails to synergise chemistry between its cast while lacking the kinetic verve of Steven Soderbergh's filmmaking on the Ocean's films.
All this said, Lift is still the second most-watched Netflix Original movie released in 2024 so far, trailing only behind Damsel.
