10 Recently Announced Movies That Will Probably Never Happen
7. Freaky Friday 2
Almost 20 years later, Mark Waters' Freaky Friday remake is fondly remembered by audiences, in large part because of Jamie Lee Curtis' Golden Globe-nominated performance as a teenager trapped in an adult's body.
Fans have been clamouring for a sequel for years, but largely due to Lindsay Lohan's noted personal troubles, it seemed like something that would never happen.
Yet Lohan has staged something of a career comeback as of late, signing a multi-picture deal with Netflix, beginning with her recent holiday-themed release Falling for Christmas.
And in an interview mere days ago, Jamie Lee Curtis confirmed that she and Lohan are "committed" to making Freaky Friday 2, and that "the right people are talking" to make it happen.
While it's easy to see how a Freaky Friday sequel could be a massive hit on Disney+, it also feels like one of those pipe dream projects that'll never actually go before cameras, especially if Lohan's Netflix deal keeps her busy for the next few years.
It's definitely not impossible, but it's tough to imagine this project being on the front-burner for anyone at Disney - especially with Disney's penchant for listlessly rebooting their IP - no matter the enduring fondness for the previous film.
