10 Ridiculous Movie Plots That Sound Like Fan Fiction (But Are Real)

5. Terminator Genisys

First off, every great fan fiction includes one glaring typo. Terminator Genisys is no different. No company in their right mind would spell their brand name “Genisys.”

The worst part of Terminator Genisys is that the whole plot feels like an apology. The writers altered the entire timeline and treated the characters like fools. John Connor, the leader of the resistance, is made into a Skynet puppet. Kyle Reese is forced into the role of the fool with no information. The T-800 is given a weak, g-rated nickname, and only at the end is given a power up. Talk about hating your own franchise. The only person coming out the other end smelling like roses is Sarah Connor.

The whole storyline plays out like an angry fan trying to make the Terminator universe make sense. Of course, when fans make stories in an attempt to fix something out of spite, it ends up worse than before. This movie, right here, is a perfect example of toxic fan fiction.
