As the star of the new blockbuster franchise and teenage sci-fi sensation Divergent, big things are about to happen in the career of Shailene Woodley. The first instalment, based upon a trilogy of books, has already taken over $260 million at the box office - and the figure is rising. This is the opportunity that could see Woodley shoot into Kristen Stewart-esque stardom. Woodley's is not an overnight success story though. Far from it. The up and comer was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress; following her role as George Clooney's daughter in The Descendants. She also won the Special Jury Award for Acting at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, off the back of her performance in The Spectacular Now. The phenomenal success of Divergent doesn't appear to be enough for Woodley however, not even enough in 2014. Her other film set for release, The Fault In Our Stars, is tipped to be another massive hit of the summer. With critics and audiences falling all over themselves to say how good it is, 2014 is shaping up to be the year of Shailene Woodley. Years from now, when she's more famous than McDonald's, it will be good to remember that she once played Snotty Girl #2 in Everybody Loves Raymond.
