1. Every Last Creature In That Ending - The Cabin In The Woods
The Cabin in the Woods. Drew Goddard's 2012 horror satire turned the notch up to 15 in its ending, which saw the two remaining heroes break into the organisation that's been orchestrating their demise, and release all of the monsters they have held there.
Every kind of hooro movie monster you can think of can be seen tearing the entire base apart and while some of these omnster aren't CGI, such as the zombies and the terrifying merman that comes in at the end, a great deal of what we see is CG, as the truly outrageous monsters appear. The sight of these creatures tearing through soldiers and scientists alike is truly a gruesome one.
Some honorable mentions go to the giant snake, the ghost, the strange killer robot with the buzzsaws, and what can only be assumed to be the kraken. All of these monsters are seen to rack up a hefty death toll in this scene, with everyone in the base falling to them eventually.
The monster that is the scariest in this scene only appears at the end, however, as it is revealed that the organisation is there to hold a race of ancient gods from rising. We only get one view of these gods at the end as a giant hand crashes through the ground. It is a view that shows the true size and power of the monsters, and sets fear into the audience watching.
