8. Bed – Death Bed: The Bed That Eats (1977)
Made in 1977 but not officially released until 2003 (on DVD), this pun-titled film featured a four poster bed created by a demon who fell in love with a woman and assumed a human form in order to make love to her. She dies during this human-demon interaction, causing the devastated demon to cry blood onto the bed, which turns it into a predatory monster. Additionally, the soul of one of the bed's victims is trapped in a painting on the wall and mournfully comments and narrates on the bed's activities.
The bed not only 'eats' people (by absorbing and dissolving them in it's fluid-filled mattress), it also has the ability to lasso victims with it's sheets, with one attempted escapee being dragged across the floor by her half-dissolved legs. It also has the good manners to clean and make itself after it has finished attacking, meaning future victims are more easily lured in.
Death Bed ends with two of the characters performing a ritual where the bed is magically transported to a field and burned, destroying it and finally setting free the soul trapped in the painting.
