Since it was Disney’s debut for a full-length feature film, Walt wanted to make sure Snow White would have a big impact on audiences in theatres. It was important to prove what could be achieved through animation which is why he didn’t hold back when crafting the more exciting moments of the movie.

Allegedly, young children would be so scared watching the film that they’d wet their pants and the cinema seats would have to be replaced. One notable scene which caused this was when Snow White gets lost in the forest. The combination of the detailed trees and the harrowing music makes for a completely terrifying sequence.

And then there’s the Evil Queen – a powerful, wicked woman who will stop at nothing to be the fairest of them all. If her transition into an old hag won’t haunt you, then her gruesome demise will.

After poisoning Snow White, she flees from the seven dwarfs in a stormy night. She is finally conquered as she falls off a cliff and a boulder crushes her, with vultures to eat the remains. Very few Disney deaths come as grisly as hers.
