10 Scary Supercomputers From Movie History
Its time for yet another of my articles about artificial life in movie and television history. This article will be the 6th article in my ongoing series featuring robots, cyborgs, and sentient computers. In the first three articles, 14 Awesome Movie Robots Youve Forgotten,15 More Movie Robots Youve Probably Forgotten, and 12 Awesome Robots From TV History, we dealt only with robots. With my cyborg articles, 10 Awesome Cyborgs in Movie History and 10 Awesome Cyborgs in TV History, we moved on to cyborgs. Now, we're looking at evil supercomputers from movie history. For each of the articles above, I set up a few laws to restrict the size of the articles. Known as Tims Laws, these rules are adjusted for each article. Tims First Law states that only malevolent, sentient computers can be used in this article, meaning robots and other ambulatory computers are excluded. I will, because I am feeling especially non-prejudiced today, allow intelligent computer programs (as opposed to full-fledged intelligent computers) to make an appearance in this article. Tims Second Law states that only computers with a significant role in a movie are allowed. Television computers will not be tolerated nor will computers that merely existed in a background role. Tims Third Law states that an evil supercomputer is defined as a computer or computer program with plans to harm or eliminate humans. That leaves out guys such as Joshua in War Games. Of course, the determination of an evil computer is up to me. Tims Fourth Law states that no kid shows, animated movies, anime, puppets, or anything else of that ilk is allowed in this article. Thats it. Lets get started. Here are 10 scary supercomputers, in no particular order, from movie history.
