During the Marvel Now era, Venom had a stint in the Guardians of the Galaxy, and that isn't as surprising as it might sound considering the symbiote's cosmic origins.

While exploring the cosmos with Star-Lord and co, the character's lore was expanded and the Venom goo was purged of its anger and malice, which was revealed to be the result of it bonding with a psychopath as its original host.

There were some fun moments in the crossover, like seeing the symbiote bonding with each of the Guardians (Rocket is a particular highlight), and if Sony hadn't already snapped up the Venom rights, a variation of this storyline could potentially have found its way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.

If Venom is going to be crossing over with anyone from the MCU down the line, it will be Spider-Man. File a Guardians team-up under 'not happening this decade'.
