10 Sci-Fi Movie Fates Worse Than Death
5. Everything That Happened To Anakin Skywalker - Star Wars: Episode III Revenge Of The Sith
The story of Anakin Skywalker is a true tragedy. Born a slave, he was rescued by the Jedi and was trained to become one himself. In doing so, he elevated his position, but Anakin had a hard time letting go, and the attachments he formed throughout his life made being a Jedi difficult.
Jedi do not crave vengeance, but that's exactly what Anakin sought when his mother was killed by Tusken Raiders. He slaughtered them, and his anger and passion only served to push him toward the path of the Dark Side of the Force.
He eventually embraced the Dark Side in an effort to save Padmé's life, but the path he walked turned into a self-fulfilling prophecy, resulting in her death. He turned from everything and everyone he cared for only to bring about the death of his beloved, and he was forever changed.
He fought his Master and closest friend to a near standstill, but lacking the high ground, Anakin lost his limbs and was left for dead, burning to death. He was saved by his new Master, and from there, he became the terror of the galaxy known as Darth Vader.
Vader was ultimately redeemed when his son refused to give up on him years later, but his redemption came at the cost of his own life.
