10 Sci-Fi Movies That Were Way Too Complicated

A German-British joint venture also from 2009, Pandorum follows the lives of a group of humans travelling through space in an attempt to colonise a far-off planet.

Two crew members awaken from hypersleep to find that their ship has been overrun by cannibalistic mutants. Not only must they survive the monsters, but also the terrifying condition of... Pandorum!

What the hell is that?

Pandorum in the movie is a fictional condition that affects those who are travelling through deep space. Without going into the medical mumbo jumbo, it basically makes you go mad and start seeing things.

Yes, this is one of those movies.

Hallucinations and a warped sense of reality have been used to great effect in plenty of films over the years, but the trope is always in danger of being overused and over-relied upon.

That is sadly the case with Pandorum, as you spend most of the film wondering just what the hell is going on.

If they'd cut back on a few of the twists, then they could have been on to something here. Unfortunately, this picture suffers from its own condition called "Confusing Movie Syndrome."
