10 Sequels To Classic Movies You Had No Idea Existed

7. The Jerk, Too

The Jerk made Steve Martin a star in 1979, and today proves that there was never a time he didn€™t have grey hair. He had no interest in making a follow-up, but he is credited as a producer on this long forgotten TV movie. The Jerk, Too was intended to launch a TV series, but it was so hated by those unlucky enough to see it that the show never came to pass. It currently holds a grim 2.9 star rating on IMDb. Mark Blankfield steps into Martin€™s shoes as Navin Johnson, who possesses none of the charm or comic timing. Most of the negative reviews centre on how annoying and unlikeable his performance is, with lots of €œhilarious€ physical comedy and wacky facial expressions. Elsewhere it looks incredibly cheap, the supporting cast are horribly stilted and the cheesy sitcom music score seems designed to hurt the eardrums. It€™s doubtful The Jerk, Too had any real chance of succeeding without Martin in the lead, but this painfully unfunny continuation was a real slap in the face to fans of the original.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
