Release Date: April 22, 2016 Despite the fact that most people nowadays only remember Snow White and the Huntsman as "that movie where Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with the director," it made a fair amount at the box office and thus inspired a sequel ($396 million on a budget of $170, if you're asking, which is apparently all that it takes nowadays). This time around there's no Kristen Stewart, though the director with whom she cheated - one Rupert Sanders - has dared to return to the fray without Snow White at his side. The Huntsman: Winter's War will star the ever brilliant Chris Hemsworth in the lead role - presumably an attempt on Universal's part to cash in on the actor's popularity playing Thor over at Marvel - and Charlize Theron, who is back reprising her turn as the Evil Queen. Also: Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain have roles in the film. Talk about "Girl Power." This is a prequel, oddly, set years before the events of the original film (a blow to the suspense factor, right?). Then again, who is this movie for, really? Are Marvel fans going to bother with it? Probably not. Are you surprised it's coming out next year? Definitely.
