1. Zinda (Oldboy)

It turns out that when Zinda was released in 2006, there were murmurs of a lawsuit emerging given that the producers of the original Oldboy had already sold the remake rights to Dreamworks. However, it turns out that the studio who made Zinda had folded by that point, and so everything was dropped; nobody was going to make anymore money out of Zinda, and it was going to be relegated to a lifetime of ridicule on YouTube. Zinda is a shameless rip-off that tries to be high-budget and pass itself off as an exhilarating thriller, but pales in every aspect compared to the original film, as evident in its take on the original film's famous fight scene. From the atrocious cinematography to the dodgy fight choereography and clearly fake weapons - we see a lead pipe get squashed at one point - it's clear that nobody really gives all that much of a toss, and it's just a lazy attempt to try and ape the original masterpiece. Really, it just feels like a bunch of film students running around having some fun and posting it online; to take it seriously as a film is to be in very small, lonely collective, not unlike Holocaust deniers, really.
