4. Badi (E.T.)
Here's one that stings just because we love E.T. so freaking much; it's a staple of an entire generation's childhoods, and stands as one of Steven Spielberg's most faultless works. This monstrosity to the left, then, Badi, doesn't even begin to live up to the hype of Spielberg's family adventure masterpiece; instead of being about an alien visitor who sparks up a touching friendship with a young boy, it's about a midget in a slug costume who terrorises a Turkish community, and the only thing that's touched is the viewer's nearest remote control. What's truly hilarious and horrifying about Badi is that even though they clearly had no studio or, really, anyone to answer to, this is the sort of effort they came up with when given complete creative (but apparently not financial) freedom; the alien will likely lurk in the nightmares of any children whose parents are sick enough to show it to them, thanks to some of the worst special effects ever put to screen. Also, is that the Starship Enterprise we can see in the middle of the Badi poster?
