10 Signs DC Will Dominate Marvel At The Box Office (Eventually)

4. Ben Affleck Is Getting Hands On

Ben Affleck’s journey from being a Hollywood laughingstock to one of cinema’s most notable auteurs is a redemption arc worthy of a Rocky film. Affleck made a big splash in 1997 when he co-wrote the Oscar-winning screenplay for Good Will Hunting, but things quickly went south for the prodigy.

After a string of high-profile misfires that included Reindeer Games and Gigli, Affleck rose like a phoenix from the ashes of his failing career, directing Oscar-caliber films like Gone Baby Gone and Argo. Affleck's resurgence proves he takes criticism to heart and comes back stronger for it.

The director’s fighting spirit will prove invaluable to the future of the DCEU’s box office grosses.

Affleck will be assuming writing, directing, and acting duties for his upcoming solo Batman feature and after the disastrous reception of BvS the gifted director will be highly motivated to bring audiences a legendary Batman film. Batman has always been DC’s ace in the hole.

Bats is a universally beloved character and even mediocre Batman movies absolutely kill it at the box office. If Affleck puts everything he has into his new Batman feature, Marvel will be hard pressed to match the inevitable box office sensation it will become.
