10 Signs The Batman Could Be A Crushing Disappointment
3. This Movie Leaves The DCEU Without A Batman
The plan is reportedly for The Batman to launch a new trilogy, and that's an exciting prospect. However, with it standing apart from the rest of the DC Extended Universe, it's something that also means the part of this world that's still shared by characters like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam, and the Flash, won't have a Batman.
With any luck, there will be some sort of explanation (Flashpoint seems like the most logical place to explain why Batman is suddenly M.I.A. after fighting alongside the Justice League), but it feels like we're trapped back in the days when superhero movie crossovers were a fantasy. Will Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight reunite the Justice League? Don't count on it.
That's a great shame because Batman's interactions with his fellow heroes have always been a lot of fun. Based on past interviews, Reeves doesn't sound overly interested in connecting to other stories, and while a story like Flashpoint could bring Pattinson into the wider DCEU, that honestly feels more like fan-fiction than a real possibility.
