10 Signs The Batman Could Be A Crushing Disappointment

4. The Batman Sounded Like The Better Movie

Ben Affleck wrote The Batman's screenplay alongside comic book writer Geoff Johns, and while specific details have never really been revealed, we do know that the premise would have been Lex Luthor sending the assassin Deathstroke to Gotham City to kill Batman.

That would have been revenge for sending him to Arkham Asylum, of course, and rumours swirled that the movie was going to also see the Caped Crusader coming face to face with some of his greatest foes after being trapped inside that iconic comic book location.

We may know very little about Reeves' version of The Batman beyond it being a noir-driven detective story, but Affleck's version just sounds like the better of the two. As a result, there's no way fans won't be thinking about what might have been, and that alone could lead to the movie being a somewhat disappointing experience for those who were anxious to see an action-packed slugfest with the Dark Knight going to war with Deathstroke!
