10 Simple Fixes That Would Have Made MCU Phase Two Awesome
3. Don't Have Every Movie End With A Samey CGI Battle
Every Marvel movie to date has ended with an explosive, CGI heavy finale to wrap things up, and the trouble is that audiences have become kind of numb to those sequences by now. For example The Winter Soldier managed to tell an intriguing, character driven story with some good action. And then the finale kicked in, where a bunch of digital helicarriers started exploding. For all the pyrotechnics the only thing that really mattered was the fight between the Captain and his former friend, so would it have been so bad to just ditch the explosions and focus on the personal drama instead? It was the same in Guardians Of The Galaxy, with the final act featuring many computer generated spaceships blowing up, but since the main characters arent involved then theres no connection to any of it. If the finale had just followed the Guardians sneaking onto Ronans ship and fighting their way through it that would have been just as satisfying. Marvel need to stop leaning on these expensive setpieces and trust that people will be invested in the characters, regardless of how many explosions are going around them.
