4. There Should Have Been A Black Widow Solo Movie
Despite getting off to a weak start in Iron Man 2, Black Widow soon proved an invaluable addition to The Avengers; shes strong, smart and she brings a much-needed dose of girl power. Shes stolen the show in both The Winter Soldier and Age Of Ultron, so it only felt natural she should be given her own movie to cement her status. This has yet to happen, with maybe the lingering curse of female superhero movies still preventing it. Comic book movies have come a long way since the dark ages of Catwoman and Elektra though, so this feels like a weak excuse. Black Widow is a great character with a rich backstory worth exploring, so why Marvel didn't jump on the chance to give her a movie during Phase Two is a puzzling one. Maybe they feel she works better in a supporting role; they famously replaced her in a playset for Age Of Ultron with Captain America instead, which seems to be a subtle hint about her place within the universe. Still, if there's room for Ant-Man - of all the superheroes out there - surely there's room for a Black Widow movie too.
