4. Don't Start Building The Death Star Now
In a rush to tie the events of the prequel trilogy to the original, George Lucas forgot that there was nearly a twenty-year gap between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope. Given how quickly the Death Star II was built in Return Of The Jedi - less than three years after the first's destruction - it is ridiculous to think it took the newly formed Galactic Empire almost two decades to build the first one. It might have been cool to see the first holographic image of the Death Star in the climatic events of Attack Of The Clones. But, as it was great to see the battle station's construction, watched by Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine and a Tarkin lookalike as the future Grand Moff at the end of Revenge Of The Sith. But it was all too soon. Lucas forgot about several key moments in his eagerness to gives audiences some big 'Oooo' moments. The trouble is it didn't make any sense. The Galactic Empire's Death Star should have been years off construction, making the comments about it becoming fully operational in A New Hope unrealistic.
