10 Single Moments That Sold Upcoming Movies
4. Elsa And The Waves - Frozen 2
When Frozen was released six years ago, everyone who saw it was delighted by the original story, the strong characters, and the undeniably catchy and memorable soundtrack. And then 'Let It Go' was overplayed to the point of exhausting and alienating the audience who had once loved it.
Now that a lot of time has passed, and with audiences eager for another musical Disney delight, Frozen 2 has finally emerged to continue the story of Elsa and Anna. With the time between films so considerably long, and the ear-worm of 'Let It Go' immediately creeping back in to everyone's ears, Frozen 2 had to give us something early to excite us all.
They did just that. In a spectacularly animated sequence, we see Elsa on the beach as the waves crash on to the shore. Determined, Elsa conjures up her ice powers and begins running atop the ferocious waters, facing down threatening waves with sheer bravery.
This is a fascinating way to sell the movie, and with superheroes even more dominant at the box office as ever, the prospect of a Disney princess embracing her unique powers is a sure-fire selling point to us all.
