10 Songs You Probably Didn't Know Were Inspired By Horror Movies
4. Ice Nine Kills – Love Bites
If you know Ice Nine Kills, you know they like to base their songs on a range of other fictions. What you might not know is that Love Bites, one of their most tender songs - especially for a metalcore band - is based on 1981's An American Werewolf In London.
Similar in this regard to My Chemical Romance's Early Sunsets Over Monroeville, Love Bites takes a low-tempo, subdued and heavily romanticised approach to brutal subject matter, which could quite easily be mistaken for a passionate love song. And, in many ways it is; with lines like 'But this is love I just can't live without', how could it not be?
But, like the wolf, the signs are there throughout - sharp teeth, falling prey to a curse, every dog having its day. And that's not to mention the ambient howling heard during several lulls in the music.
As an added horror bonus, this is also a duet with Chelsea Talmadge - Carol from Stranger Things!
