10 Spider-Man Characters Who Could Headline The Female Spin-Off Movie

1. Black Cat

Who Is She? Daughter of a world-renowned cat burglar, Felicia Hardy was told by him when he was arrested to never settle for being second-best. Felicia donned a costume to break her father out of prison and met Spider-Man, falling for him and continuing to operate as the Black Cat in order to attract his attention. Eventually she and Peter began a relationship together, but she loved him more as Spider-Man and didn€™t understand his need for a civilian identity. Later fearing that her lack of powers made her a liability, she went to the Kingpin to acquire superhuman powers. Their relationship didn€™t last and though Felicia became an enemy of Peter€™s on occasion (even harassing him and Mary Jane when she discovered they were dating), they eventually smoothed things out and became allies once more. Likelihood? The chances of Sony€™s superheroine film being Black Cat are incredibly likely. For one, there have been attempts to get her into the series before, going as far back as early scripts for Spider-Man 2, and in Raimi€™s planned Spider-Man 4, Anne Hathaway would have played the character. Felicity Jones played Felicia in ASM2, so she€™s got something over the other characters in that she€™s already appeared in the series and the role is cast. Producer Avi Arad previously said introducing Felicia in ASM2 was intended for her to later appear as the Black Cat, and now this spin-off is announced? Too much of a coincidence. And after the ending of ASM2, Peter may be looking to escape even further into his Spider-Man identity, which could easily open up a spot for his relationship with the Black Cat. Smart money is on a Black Cat movie in 2017 leading into ASM3 where Peter and Felicia become an item. Have any other theories about who might be headlining the Spidey spin-off?
