10 Spooky Films About Witchcraft

4. Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus For those who don't know, Hocus Pocus is only the world's greatest Hallowe'en film (or film for any other time of year, quite frankly). Bette Midler is outstanding as Winifred Sanderson - and get ready to change any negative feelings you may have about Sarah Jessica Parker when you see this. Hocus Pocus is spooky in the campest way. It's spooky in the psychobilly, drunken grown-up Hallowe'en party sense, too, despite being intended as a kid's film. There's nothing quite like the bond an audience has with a talking black cat, or the repeated awkwardness of a teenage boy running around the streets telling people he's a virgin thinking that they'll help. Or perhaps the appeal is just in watching Sarah Jessica Parker eating a spider. Whatever it is, Hocus Pocus has it all and brings the raucous fun back into witchcraft.

Fan of Taylor Swift and the Dead Kennedys (a duet I can only dream of). I like dystopias, slasher films, and video games that make me feel things.
