10 Star Wars Flops Disney Have Buried

7. The Clone Wars Movie

Obi Wan
Lucasfilm

While the rebooted The Clone Wars animated series that eventually trickled onto our screens from 2008 onwards would go on to become one of the most adored and celebrated TV projects Lucasfilm has ever produced, the backdoor pilot that originally kicked off this bold new era for the title isn't anywhere near as appreciated... and for good reason.

Though not an entirely disappointing entry - it did give us the debut of one Ahsoka Tano after all - The Clone Wars feature that landed in theatres a few weeks before the incoming series embarked on its small screen journey was unfortunately weighed down by wholly boring characters and largely disappointing animation. Worse yet, the first real spin-off Star Wars project sits as the worst-rated title in Lucasfilm's back catalogue, bringing in a putrid 18% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It's little surprise next to no mention of this lacklustre segue into what would become the franchise's flagship TV series for a time was made when pitching the eventual set of Disney spin-offs that got underway with Rogue One in 2016.

The House of Mouse wants you to remember the half-hour doses of delightfulness, not this dull dud of a film.
