8. Japanese Actors (Badly) Trying To Speak English - 47 Ronin
47 Ronin was a film that had the odds stacked against it from the word "go", what with its first-time director, its budget that spiraled way out of control, and the logistical issues involved with hiring Japanese actors for a Japanese story, but then asking them to speak English so the film is more easily marketable around the world. This is made worse by the fact that the majority of the Japanese actors struggle to speak coherent English, resulting in stilted, hammy deliveries which inspire laughter more than anything. The film has a few notable offenders, the most memorable of whom is Ko Shibasaki (who some might recognise as the murderous Mitsuko from Battle Royale), who plays Keanu Reeves' love interest in the film. She's so obviously reading from phonetic cue-cards that it distracts from any drama the scene is trying to convey, hammering a few more nails into this utterly dreadful box office bomb.
