10 Superhero Team-Ups We Must See In MCU Phase 4
5. Black Panther And Captain America
Now that Steve is one and a half feet in the grave, and Sam has taken over the mantle as Captain America, Marvel needs to put Sam in his own Captain America movie as soon as possible so that he can establish his own identity, even with his own Disney+ show coming opposite Bucky. There are tons of different ways to go about this, all of them interesting in their own right, but a crossover with Black Panther might hold the most potential.
If done right, a crossover between these two characters could become a more optimistic parallel to the first movie's conflict between T'Challa and Killmonger. Two black men from completely different worlds, but instead of how those differences affected their lives and viewpoints leading to a failure of communication and erupting into violence, Sam and T'Challa could find common ground and come together to defeat whatever baddie they're put up against. Which, admittedly, shouldn't be too hard, considering they've now done the equivalent of fighting a war together.
Their interactions would be fascinating, Sam utilizing his wings with Cap's shield would make the action scenes all the more intricate and impressive, and frankly, the MCU needs more of their POC heroes interacting with each other as leads and equals. The last time these two held an actual conversation was Civil War, and that just isn't right.
