10. Black Widow

The Reasoning: Opens Up Ripe Dramatic Ground For Hawkeye/Captain America Given that Black Widow hasn't actually appeared in her own movie yet, and probably won't anytime soon (Marvel seem more interested in developing movies about a slew of "safer" characters), it's a credit to Scarlett Johansson and the MCU writers who worked on Captain America: The Winter Soldier that she's started to finally feel like a fully rounded character. Because if we're honest with ourselves, up until that movie, she felt underdeveloped. So why, after finally coming into her own, does Black Widow deserve to die? In the most basic terms, simply because Black Widow is still pretty much a character who we can afford to lose. And because she is now poised as something of a love interest for two characters (Hawkeye and Captain America himself), can you imagine that, should she find herself dead in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, the drama that could be rung from such an event?
