10 Surprising Things Sixties Batman Shares With The Dark Knight
7. Sometimes You Just Can't Get Rid Of A Bomb
Comparing the Batman TV series and the Nolan films might appear to be akin to comparing apples to oranges, so let's be a little more fair. The sixties show actually begat a totally amazing film probably the best cinematic outing for the Dark Knight which stretches out those usual campy hijinks to a feature length. It also includes a scene that The Dark Knight Rises ripped off wholesale. Yes, the sixties Batman that included a scene where the Caped Crusader fought a rubber shark using Bat Shark Repellent was totally plagiarised by Christopher Nolan for his serious Batman script. That ending where Batman carries a nuclear weapon away that would have destroyed Gotham, because he has no other choice, and then somehow survives, and that's never explained? Totally the same as Adam West Batman struggling to get rid of a bomb because he needs to throw it into some water, but there's nuns on one side and ducks on another. It explodes. He survives. It's never explained. Identical!
