10 Talented Actors Who Just Can't Seem To Make A Good Film
2. Cameron Diaz
No. Of "Rotten" Films In Past 5 Years: 10 Cameron Diaz hasn't made a "Fresh" movie since 2005. Seriously. Nobody in all of Hollywood seems to have had a run of bad luck that has lasted as long as Cameron Diaz. Though we've claimed that she's made 10 "Rotten" movies in the last 5 years, if you stretch all the way back to 2005 (and her last "Fresh" movie, which was In Her Shoes) then it becomes apparent that this actress has made 17 "Rotten" movies in a row. IN A ROW, people. Now, that's insane no matter how you look at it; what is it about the movies that attract Cameron Diaz? Or is she actually the one who's inadvertedly ruining them all? Well, firstly, it's not that last thing: Cameron isn't necessarily the worst element in any of her "Rotten" films. She's a fine comic actress, capable of great charisma, sexuality and - if she puts her mind to it - dramatic depths. She just seems incapable of choosing a good movie, most commonly opting for low-brow comedies like Sex Tape and The Other Woman, which - with their terrible plots - already had the odds stacked against them from the beginning. But even Diaz's seemingly conscious attempts to make "good" films seem to backfire; who could have predicted The Counsellor to be such a disaster on arrival, or that The Green Hornet - under the direction of auteur Michel Gondry - would turn out so damn cruddy? It's a shame, really, given that - once upon a time - Diaz had a thriving and varied career.
