8. Marvel Zombies

The idea of Marvel zombies happening in the MCU was always somewhat unlikely, but the suggestion of one-shot style movies and alternate timelines did seem to open some doors. We then got a big hint from the rumour mill that Ben Wheatley was talking to Marvel about a film project and everyone remembered the interview he gavee to Little White Lies about working with Marvel:

“I don’t really know how those things work. ‘Marvel Zombies’ hasn’t been done which is what I’m interested in. Maybe that’s a bit too niche. Marvel’s interesting in that it’s kind of a hybrid of cinema and television. A very, very expensive TV show that you buy a pass for every three months.”

Sadly, that rumour was shot down and even with other hints over the years, we have to be reasonable and accept that Marvel's marketing department would never accept a project where they had to sell the idea of dead heroes killing other beloved alive ones.

It's most likely that that exceptional Spider-Man: Far From Home moment in the Mysterio sequence will be the closest we will ever get.
