10 Terrible CGI Horror Movie Moments You Can't Unsee

1. The Corn Monsters - Children Of The Corn

The latest adaptation of Stephen King's Children of the Corn short story certainly did enough to keep your eyes glued to the screen - mostly because of just how badly made its digital corn creatures ultimately were.

Focusing on a group of kids who decide to kill the adults in their small town and sacrifice them to a demon that lurks in the cornfields, what possibly could have been a truly horrifying monster soon made the worst kind of impact.

Released in 2023, three years after it was originally completed, it's clear the filmmakers didn't spend that time carefully crafting a truly nightmarish fiend. Instead the "He Who Walks" who wandered onto the screen here ultimately looked like what would happen if a lazily made Michael Bay Transformer chose to turn into a bunch of, well, corn.

It somehow gets worse, though, when Eden (Kate Moyer), the kid leading the murderous charge, herself becomes a human/crop hybrid late on.

That zombie plant's sudden leafy attack on poor Boleyn (Elena Kampouris) before the credits roll was clearly designed to sear one last eerie image into viewers' heads. But the incredibly ropey CG used to fire vegetation out of the blistered body of Eden is simply too darn sloppy and unrealistic to really disturb, with each of these plant beasts being remembered for all the wrong reasons by those who had the misfortune to see them in the first place.
